Security Philosophy
- Section 1 — Philosophy and priorities.
- Software-engineering-first security — "This is a software engineering role first" (Senior Software Engineer, Application Security job posting, LinkedIn).
- Developer-oriented integration — "Design APIs and CLIs that integrate security tooling into developer workflows without creating friction" (Senior Software Engineer, Application Security job posting, LinkedIn).
- Build rather than merely configure — "We don't just deploy scanners — we design and build distributed scanning infrastructure, policy enforcement engines, and vulnerability management platforms from the ground up" (Senior Software Engineer, Application Security job posting, LinkedIn).
- Scale and automation — "systems that detect, manage, and remediate vulnerabilities across Anduril's product ecosystem at scale" (Senior Software Engineer, Application Security job posting, LinkedIn).
- Policy enforcement — "Build and maintain policy-as-code systems that programmatically enforce security policy in CI/CD pipelines and deployment configurations" (Senior Software Engineer, Application Security job posting, LinkedIn).
- Publicly stated pain points and goals — reducing developer friction, operating vulnerability workflows at organization-wide scale, and replacing or extending third-party tools where necessary (Senior Software Engineer, Application Security job posting, LinkedIn).
Key Initiatives
Section 3 — Programs and workflows. Security Champions program No public result identified describing an Anduril Security Champions program. Shift-left in CI/CD Policy-as-code — The AppSec role includes "policy-as-code systems that programmatically enforce security policy in CI/CD pipelines and deployment configurations" (Senior Software Engineer, Application Security job posting, LinkedIn). Developer integration — The team builds APIs and CLIs for developer workflows and aims to avoid friction (Senior Software Engineer, Application Security job posting, LinkedIn). Pipeline gate implementation details — Policy enforcement in CI/CD is publicly described, but specific gate conditions, approval paths, and bypass controls are not publicly available. Vulnerability management Intake sources — Multiple scanning engines are aggregated, normalized, and routed into vulnerability-management systems (Senior Software Engineer, Application Security job posting, LinkedIn). Ticket ownership and remediation workflow — The role describes systems for tracking vulnerabilities and remediation workflows, but ownership conventions and ticketing platforms are not publicly available (Senior Software Engineer, Application Security job posting, LinkedIn). Secure SDLC ceremonies Design and architecture reviews — Security architecture and design reviews around custom applications are listed as responsibilities or qualifications for security engineering roles (Senior Security Engineer job posting, LinkedIn). Other ceremonies — Threat modeling, security sign-off, secure coding reviews, and release-readiness ceremonies are not publicly documented. New programs or tool rollouts in the last 6 months A newly indexed SAT role describes an event-driven scanning-orchestration platform on AWS and policy-as-code enforcement, but the public material does not establish when those systems were launched or whether they represent a rollout within the last six months (Senior Software Engineer, Application Security job posting, LinkedIn)
